Messy Vampire Bite

The title pretty much describes what I was going for :) 2 coats of My Vampire is Buff, and some red and black. :) I broke 3 nails this morning in rapid succession, so I filed the rest of them down too. I'm thinking maybe I should just keep them short-ish. Anytime my nails get any real length to them they start breaking, or peeling. Or like today, both...

Robin Moses is my hero

I have watched so many tutorials by Robin Moses and I am amazed every time. She just does the most amazing stuff. She has inspired several of my manis, most of which I never post. I don't like using other people's ideas...not too often anyway :) But here is my latest mani, thanks to THIS. Now my version isn't as wonderfully detailed as hers, but I did try. :) Again, I don't use acrylic paints, so it was all done with random polishes in the colors I needed.

Dungeon Walls

AHHH! Halloween is almost here! YAY! I started this with 2 coats of OPI's Don't Pretzel My Buttons, and then sponged on some red/brown polish, mixed a dark red and black to create the color for the bloody scratches on the wall, and black polish and made something that's supposed to look like chains lol I think if I do this again, I'm going to try to make the "wall" brick....didn't clean up after...oops lol

stitches?

I wanted to do something bloody for a Halloween mani, and found THIS on youtube and thought I'd give it a try. Mine is "bloodier" and I don't use acrylic paint, but here's my version...

In person it's a much darker red, but my camera just wouldn't cooperate.

China Glaze BOO-GIE DOWN

I have to admit I was a bit disappointed in the Halloween collection from China Glaze this year. I bought last year's entire collection. This year I bought 2. One of them is BOO-GIE DOWN. I've shown it over Orly's Decoded. The formula was a little on the thick side but not bad at all. I was worried it would be like Whirled Away, which wasn't necessarily "bad" but.... Anyhow, here's the pics. 2 Coats Decoded, 2 coats BOO-GIE DOWN, and 2 coats of Seche. 2 with flash, 2 without. Guess it's a day for 2's. :)

Above The Curve...Husbands Just Don't Understand

Yet another Above the Curve polish that has been on my wish list since it's release. Finally got it. :) As always great formula, application, etc... Love it. Took several pictures. Was hoping for a daylight shot but the weather has been gloomy here the last couple days. I also reluctantly trimmed my nails down. Not so much to go with the nub but to prevent myself from hurting myself again lol

midnight pumpkin patch

Per my son's request, I attempted to do a "pumpkin patch at night". I'm not entirely thrilled with the results, but told my son I would post the pictures to my blog anyway. He really seems to like it, which is a good enough reason for me. :)

Tim Burton inspired Halloween

If you ever watch Tim Burton's movies, there's a very specific way things are done. Specially with the claymation/animation movies. So I attempted to do my nails with that style. Attempt being the key word there. So I have 2 coats of Sinful Colors Cloud 9, with CG's Bump In The Night.

Above The Curve...Kiss My Asteroid!

I have had this polish on my wish list since it's release. A few weeks ago I finally got it! Along with another polish that is planned for this weekend. I LOVE Above The Curve. I have never been upset with any product. 2 coats w/ 1 coat of Seche. 6 pictures. 2 without flash, 2 with, and 2 outside.

Swatches & Reviews for Creations By Lynda

As promised, here is the review and swatches for yet more amazing polishes from Creations By Lynda LLC.  Let's just get to it! All swatches are 3 thin coats without topcoat unless otherwise noted.  All items were sent to me for my honest review.

First on deck, Switchblade! I love this color! A simple black jelly with red sparkles! Definitely my favorite of the bunch, but that's probably because black and red are at the top of my list of favorite colors. :) It is a bit on the sheer side, but opacity can be reached with little trouble or if you want to save time and polish do a coat of black first. Switchblade is from the Out of This World Collection, Lynda's Halloween collection inspired by The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Second, another polish from the Out of This World Collection. Touch Me. I LOVE this polish! It's white but not the crazy white out white that you often see. Applies like a dream and it goes well under every glitter I've tried.

Third, we have Glass Slipper from the Fairytale Dreams collection. A beautiful blue scattered holo.

Fourth, Noir's Got the Blues. Let me just say, I LOVE this glitter topper! Lynda used blue and black glitter in several sizes, shades and shapes. There are dots, hexes, slices, squares, shreds... etc.  I have shown it with 1 coat on my index finger, 2 coats on my middle, and 1 thick coat over pelican grey by china glaze and Lynda's "Touch Me". It was a little on the thick side but not so much that I couldn't work with it.

Last but not least, my absolute FAVE of the polishes the lovely Lynda sent me. Rainbow In The Dark. A holo topcoat! I've shown 4 different polish colors, CG's Tree Hugger, OPI's Don't Pretzel My Buttons, CG's Grape Pop, CG's Call of the wild. I used 2 coats of Rainbow In The Dark on each color. I love when the holo goodness is in your face. I don't care if some people say holos are going "out" lol I want them all! hehe

One again, Lynda did not disappoint! Great formula, great coverage, nothing to complain about. Check out her page on FACEBOOK and check out her SHOP. She sells more than nail polish! Soaps, Candles, Cuticle Oils. And she's pretty rockin' awesome!

A rough week...yeah, that doesn't quite cover it...

I will get to the nails I promise. :) This last week has been pretty terrible, and anything nail related got kicked off the stove entirely, not just moved to the back burner.
My older brother died last Monday. He was only 32. We still don't know what happened. I wore the same nail polish for 6 days. I broke 2 nails, one of which I chewed off down to the quik during my brother's visitation & funeral. So ignore the nubbin in the picture.
My brother's favorite college team for all sports it seems, but basketball for sure was UK Wildcats. For those that don't know, that's University of Kentucky. As a result, his favorite color was blue...
The mani I have is all done with polishes from the lovely Lynda's "Creations By Lynda" polishes which I will have a review for later this week but for now..... I'm sure you guys will be seeing a lot of blue manis from me for a while.
